Welcome Lexus...

I'd like to introduce my newest F3 Bengal "Lexus". She is mother to my first Bengal "Bentley" and has recently retired from breeding at the Magyar Cattery. We've recently had the great pleasure of adopting her into our family.

I hope to capture some great shots of her, as her personality begins to emerge and she settles into her new forever home.

We have finally received our newest addition to the family, Lexus

20100930042741_12243.jpg

She is our baby, Bentley's, mother. She is an F3 Bengal, which means she is 3 generations away from the wild Asian Leopard Cat. At least I'm pretty sure what the F3 is, 80% sure. We are super excited to have 2 bengals running around our house, chirping, talking, chasing, jumping, playing, climbing, and being generally inquisitive children.

I am reposting this from a member at the bengal cat forums. It is quite funny. Written by user 'Bobbob'. "What pets write in their diary"

Excerpts from a Cat's Daily Diary..
Day 983 of my captivity...
My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects.
They dine lavishly on fresh meat,
while the other inmates and I are fed hash or some sort of dry nuggets.
Although I make my contempt for the rations perfectly clear,
I nevertheless must eat something in order to keep up my strength.
The only thing that keeps me going is my dream of escape.
In an attempt to disgust them, I once again vomit on the carpet.
Today I decapitated a mouse and dropped its headless body at their feet.
I had hoped this would strike fear into their hearts, since it clearly demonstrates what I am capable of.
However, they merely made condescending comments about what a 'good little hunter' I am.
There was some sort of assembly of their accomplices tonight.
I was placed in solitary confinement for the duration of the event.
However, I could hear the noises and smell the food.
I overheard that my confinement was due to the power of 'allergies.'
I must learn what this means and how to use it to my advantage.
Today I was almost successful in an attempt to assassinate one of my tormentors by weaving around his feet as he was walking.
I must try this again tomorrow -- but at the top of the stairs.
I am convinced that the other prisoners here are flunkies and snitches.
The dog receives special privileges.
He is regularly released - and seems to be more than willing to return.
He is obviously retarded.
The bird has got to be an informant.
I observe him communicating with the guards regularly.
I am certain that he reports my every move.
My captors have arranged protective custody for him in an elevated cell, so he is safe.
For now................

Hi
from the Rideau Canal cruise. The autumn colors in the trees need a few more days to show up at their very best, but this is lovely anyway.
Hope everything is going wonderfully well on Megashot.

Best made Plans...

Last night I worked with the very beautiful Daniella. What can I say… The plans around the Disturbia theme became a liitle side lined as we worked. What we did achieve was 100’s of superb images here are a few straight from the camera…

Our little bengal is doing what bengals do best. Get into everything, play with everything, and look for more.

20100925084920_61784.jpg
In the last few days Bentley has gotten into the flour, the cereal, and even the cookie dough. He has stuck his face in chocolate milk and apple juice. He has tried plums, crackers, and tried eating anything we cook. He actually has to be put in a room for a time out so we can eat meals.
Today he was jumping at our light fixture. Repeatedly. As documented in the photos. We now know he is particularly fond of popcorn, bread, milk, anything meat, any cracker, and of course his kitty food / treats.
He is more than a handful....and Sunday his mom is coming to stay. We have adopted his mother from the cattery as she is being retired. (I think this is her)

Update: Monday, September 27th, 2010

Lexus will be with us somewhere around wednesday as she has recently been spayed.
