Hello folks, To capture water drops, I filled up a glass bowl of about one foot (25 CM) in diameter, with water. I submerged thin blue wrapping paper in the water and make it stay on the bottom attached to the bowl and they did. I also had some yellow and red paper stuck to the inside of the rim, on the opposite side of the camera. ![]() Shot with FinePix S3Pro at 2007-12-10 had the kitchen faucet drip in the bowl. Adjusted the flow until I had a comfortable rate of flow, about a drop per second. I had the camera on tripod and focused on the spot where the water was dropping. I used flash on the camera and also had light coming from the other side of the bowl, through the kitchen window. You have to have the second source of light either through a window or wherever in addition to the flash, to get the effect you see here.Once I did a few shots and got comfortable with the timing, I was able to capture almost every drop. You have to use an aperture which would give you a focus on the drops but also give you a nice bokeh. This particular shot was captured at ISO 200, F 4.at 1/180 and from a distance of about 4 feet (1.3 Meters). I also used a shutter cable release which is important in getting the shot fired at the right time without camera shake. This was captured in raw and converted in CS2. By the way, you don't really need a fast shutter speed for these drops, these were taken at 1/60. If you haven't tried this, let's take some shots now and here's some other variations. ![]() ![]() ![]() Shot at 2007-12-20 Shot at 2007-12-20 ! Best regards,

Very nice tutorial, I'm definitely going to give this a go. It will be interesting to see how it works out.
