Every time we take a photograph, we write a diary, a story, a comic or what have you. we do our writing with light, which what the word photography means, writing with light You have to think of light having a temperature not in term of intensity or color. This temperature is measured in Kelvin degrees (Kelvin is similar to the Celsius scale but uses absolute zero, -273?C, as the starting point rather than the freezing temperature of water.) . Now,Tungsten light, regular electrical bulb has a temperature of about 3.200 or lower. A florescent light has a higher temperature of about 3,800 degree Kelvin They have been making florescent bulb which gives you warmer light near or at incandescent temperature. It's also worth noting that as you dim a
light, the temperature drops, the light of a dimmed incandescent Tungsten light would be less than 3,200 and all the way down to less than 2,000. A candle light is about 1,400-1,900 K Day light temperature varies from about 2,000 K at sun rise and sunsets to about 20,000 in late evening blue shades! A flash temperature is to mimic a high noon temperature of about 5,500K. And yes, the warmer light has a lower temperature and colder light has a higher temperature!
Now, The frog was sitting on this plant in a projecting window with glass on the sides and on the top. It was a colder, late afternoon (clear blue sky). The golden light(warmer light with a lower temperature) is coming through the side glass, from the setting sun and the bluish light (skylight and scattered light with a higher temperature) is the indirect light, coming from the top, through the glass and this has produced the lighting effect you see here.
In the following photo, the same concept is used. The warmer light in the center and on the left, is coming from a ceiling Tungsten light and the colder light, on the right, is coming through a window.

This following is a candid shot as it is most of the time with babies. Lighting for this one is simple. On the right, there was a table lamp and the he was kind of close to it. It was shot laying low with my back of the floor. The lighting in the back which highlights the hair, comes from a dining room chandelier and that's all there is to it. It was shot in raw and converted in CS2.
