We would like to be able to pay full attention to, and recognize our inspiring photographers and artists. They are the ones amongst us who inspire us by their work and provide us with a benchmark for photographic achievements. We would also like to
be able to recognize and pay full respect to those of us who try hard to make the photographic dreams of others become a reality. There are many in our circle who are doing just that. They write articles, tutorials and provide true and meaningful feedbacks when requested by our member friends. They even go out of their way to do numerous edits on images presented for feedback. I would like to start this recognition tradition by acknowledging our good friend Dieter Schaefer and what he has done for us here on MegaShot.net and in our groups at Flickr. If you don't already know Dieter, chances are that you soon will. He is a man of great conviction and personal integrity. he also harbors a great deal of deep knowledge, acquired through long term interest in the field of photography. What is more admirable about Dieter, is the fact that he would, unconditionally, share his knowledge and experience with you while he would humbly try to learn, from you. He has found an interest in Avian photography only recently but his quest for improvement has led him to an early success, thank you Dieter!

Dieter doesn't only have an eye for photography, but the precision of his engineering mind makes him an excellent photographer. I enjoy very much sharing the same passion of photography with him and his edits.

There are two significant things going on here.
First of all Cyrus is proving to be a great person just by honoring another wonderful person. Secondly Dieter is getting some much deserved attention. His work is remarkable but his help and service to others is even more incredible. Dieter is both an incredible photographer and remarkable artist. Great work Dieter!!! ![]() written by a guest, July 13, 2007

Some well deserved recognition here! One of my favorite photographers, and people, that I have encountered during my time on flickr. He is always there to give feedback on others' work, and has taught me a great deal in the time that I have known him. Truly an inspiration to us all. Thank you Dieter!

The birds just love him and they look at him straight in the eye-It takes immense patience and skill to capture objects in motion especially unpredictable birds-and to get the focus and exposure spot on is certainly commendable-way to go and all the best for all future efforts. Keep lightening up our day with great shots
I also appreciate his promptness in giving feedback ![]() written by a guest, July 13, 2007

Dieter's work is truly amazing and inspiring. Each one of his photos is a gem! His captures of pelicans and other birds are just magnficent! He is a true talent with an amazing eye; and just as impressive is his desire to help others and mentor their work. Thank you Dieter for sharing your knowledge… our group would be incomplete without your guidance and feedback.

Dieter is an outstanding and generous human being. It shows in the manner he deals with fellow photographers, lots of patience and respect. My picture taking skill has improved quite a bit since he became one of my Flickr contact.

I just recently joined Flickr and I can already see what an asset Dieter is to the community. All of the helpful comments he's given and editing examples show that he has a true passion for photography. I must also add that his own photos are phenomenal examples of how to do it and I hope to learn from both his photos and his contributions.

You know, I've taken classes on photography, I've read books, I've even gone so far as to read the manuals that came with my camera (!) but I learn much more from observing the works of and reading the commentary of photographers like Dieter. I particularly admire any photographer who's work can make me gasp aloud with admiration as I did with that extraordinary view of the hawk posted above! Thanks for sharing your efforts with us, Dieter, and please continue to do so. /Robin (aka Petirrojo)

I have only recently "met" Dieter on Flickr, and cannot believe my good fortune. He has been incredibly generous with his time and advice, without making me feel totally useless. I feel that I will learn so much from him, both in looking at his work (which is extraordinarily beautiful) and in reading his suggestions. His critiques are full of positive and constructive comments - a truly inspiring man.

When this page opened up that first image just sent CHILLS down my spine! That magnificent bird appeared to be looking right through me! I am very new here, but already sense something special going on that I haven't seen or felt in other forums or groups. Judging from what I've read above and in MIMS... not even getting into the quality of the images which are remarkable... Dieter is one of the driving forces that make this community work. A person giving of their time is gift to all of us. Thank you Dieter for giving your time and sharing your passion.

I would like to thank Dieter for giving his time so freely to help others. It's great to have someone of his knowledge and experience helping those of us fairly new to photography. I've found his comments insightful, meaningful and always relayed in an encouraging way. They've helped me no end. Viewing his bird pictures especially the pelicans is always a pleasure and inspiration.

I think everyone else has pretty much already said it all. Dieter always gives you honest criticism most often accompanied with a PS edit to display and make his point. Even if you are not into doing a lot of Photoshop his edits still demonstrate what you can do to improve your photography. Thank you Dieter for your time and for sharing your knowledge.

Dieter (aka beachwalker2007 of Flickr) I met on "Make it a Mega Shot" and everyday I am amazed how dedicated and obviously devoted he is to photography. He is a wonderful nature photographer and an editor with years of skill. It seems he must also enjoy teaching, as he is ready to generously share his knowledge with beginners or pros. He has patiently put up with lots of my silly questions and because of his support and others like Cyrus , Dieter, Dave, Karen, Robert etc. I have more faith that I too can improve my skills. If you want to have a standard of perfection to aspire to, just look at his photos. His soaring birds his perfect blossoms all are a delight.

Imagine my surprise when I visited this site this morning! I am truly flattered and also at a loss for words; too much honor. Thank you, Cyrus, for finding and posting kind works about me and my humble work. Many thanks to all of you who took the time to leave their kind comments; it is truly appreciated.

Dieter and I haven't really had much of what some would refer to as one on one conversations or exchanges. I first noticed Dieter's work on a different photo site where many photographers continue to enjoy his work and the beauty of birds that they may only get a chance to see and that's from his photos. The 2 photos on this page for example, I have seen but nowhere near the outstanding capture that Dieter has accomplished.
What has impressed me most, regardless of the photo community he's participating in, is his willingness to assist and help others. Dieter ~ you ROCK! ![]() written by a guest, July 15, 2007
This is great and recognition well deserved. Thank you Dieter and the whole team for all the help.

Dieter, your expertise with photo editing is only surpassed by your generosity in taking the time to share all the information with us.
To achieve the work you do in your digital darkroom you first need to have a good basic photo. You have the expertise and equipment to accomplish that, also. Its a pleasure to view your work. Thanks for sharing. Maggie ...
