This morning I was reading about using a ND filter to help to create water that looks silky smooth.(using longer time and minus two or more stops in exposure compensation, apparently helps too). And so I got to wondering if we could have an article on Filters and what each filter is used for. There is a very good article about the IR filter and how to use it in Mega Shot on Flickr by Guenther. I wonder if we could have people submit articles like that about each Filter. We could discuss the submission in the forum and then after all information is in, rewrite to include all information for each Filter, into the Article. Filters article could have sub-categories for each filter. Maybe even each filter could have sub headings for the uses, or at least bulleted easy to read uses with descriptions and examples included. All this good information in one accessible place would be a real drawing card for more of us newbies to join this site for learning.

This is not something that would be done up in a day, but could be an on-going process in the forum, with any new good information added to the articles as we collected it from knowledgeable people. We have the rest of our lives to build this beautiful site and make it work for learning in a friendly atmosphere.
