Hello folks,
To capture water drops, I filled up a glass bowl of about one foot (25 CM) in diameter, with water. I submerged thin blue wrapping paper in the water and make it stay on the bottom attached to the bowl and they did. I also had some yellow and red paper stuck to the inside of the rim, on the opposite side of the camera.

Once I saw an ant in a small puddle of water struggling hard to swim out. I remained under the impression that ants are not good swimmers and would probably work hard to stay away from finding themselves in water.

A portrait simply mean that you have an image that looks like the person
or the subject you have attempted to photograph. We all know that
a good portrait is one that also captures the character and personality
of the model or the subject. So, the more the image resembles the model
in most every way, the more of a successful portrait we may have.

My gear
I use Canon DSLR which is probably the worst gear you can use for infrared (IR) photography. Why? Canon has a very efficient low pass filter in front of the sensor. “Low pass” means that longer wavelengths are filtered out (low wavelengths can pass, long wavelength are blocked). |

It has been very hard not to notice the progress that our friend Rafik Kamel has made in his Macro Photography. What is even more note worthy, is the fact that he has only recently become interested in the filed and he does not even own a dedicated Macro lens yet. He uses his 70-300 VR lens along with a Macro adapter!

I guess it all depends on how much you'd like to get into the Macro world, what your interests are and how you define macro photography in general. For me, Macro photography starts with 1:1 magnification and anything far less than that and I would call it a close up. |

If you have a design which has three different colors in it, you can make this design on one sheet of paper and you are done. You can also make this design on three different sheets of transparent plastic or acetate, where every color is on a different sheet. Once you overlay these three transparent sheets, you will once again have the complete design.

Friends who like the colors in my photos, often ask me about my Post processing steps and methods. The answer is the fact that there is little Post processing for colors, if any at all. I do all my color processing at the time of conversion. I limit post processing to sharpening and some color tweaking, if the image needs some. Most of the time spent on an image is in conversion and in sharpening afterwards. |
